Frequently Asked Questions
What are the different types of American Standard toilets available?

One-piece
In a one-piece toilet, the tank tank and bowl are integrated so that it forms a single streamlined unit. In most instances, the water pipes are fully concealed and there usually is no joint between the tank and the bowl, unlike close coupled toilets.

Close coupled
A close coupled toilet consists of two separate units, the tank and the toilet bowl, and then joined together. The tank unit is exposed and usually placed against the wall with a gap, while the bowl is connected to the floor. In most instances, the water pipes are hidden within the casings of the toilet.
Back to wall
A back to wall toilet is where the toilet bowl is fitted fully to the wall or against a specially designed cistern unit. The tank and water pipes are all hidden in the wall or the tank unit. The toilet can be operated through the unit panels on the tank unit or through a flush panel fitted into the wall.
Wall-hung
The toilet bowl of wall-hung toilets is mounted onto the wall itself, not on the floor. Similar to wall-hung back to wall toilets, the tank is concealed and only accessible via a flush panel on the wall. As the bowl is suspended above the floor, it is easy to clean.
