Frequently Asked Questions
What are the different installation types for American Standard wash basins?
American Standard offers the following options to cater to our customers’ varied needs:

Vessel
A vessel basin sits directly on top of a counter or deck and its sides are fully exposed and finished. A vessel sink. Complements well with wall mounted faucets or deck-mounted faucets.

Countertop
A countertop wash basin is installed from above the counter or deck and supported by an outer rim that sits on the counter itself.

Vessel with deck
A vessel basin with a deck is similar in structure and design to a regular vessel basin, but the former has a deck and hole(s) to fit a faucet.

Semi-Counter
Semi-counter basins are similar to countertop basins. However, the front portion of the former protrudes out partially instead of being fully fitted within the countertop, offering a smart way to maximize usable space in a small area. Since the basin extends beyond a narrow ledge or vanity, a semi-countertop sink offers you a surprisingly large basin while preserving valuable floor space.

Undercounter
Undercounter wash basins are installed under the counter or deck. There is no basin rim surrounding the sink, giving the counter an overall clean and seamless look.

Full-Pedestal
A full-pedestal wash basin consists of a basin attached to a long column that conceals the water pipes within and extends to the floor.

Semi-Pedestal
A semi-pedestal wash basin is similar to that of a full pedestal, but the column does not reach the ground and connects to the wall instead.

Wall-Hung
A wall-hung basin is a sink that is directly attached to the wall without any pedestal or column underneath to support it. A metal basin frame or pipe supports the sink and conceals the piping underneath.
